Saltz, a fresh products marketplace connecting food producers and sellers to restaurants, hotels, and retail buyers, has successfully raised a €3 million seed round to empower buyers to procure fresh products without middlemen or distributors and enjoy a broader assortment, lower prices, and fresher products.
Two of the founders are Andrius and Tomas Šlimas, co-founders of Oberlo, which was acquired by Shopify. They co-founded the business with Reinis Strodahs, a supply chain veteran from Latvia. Change Ventures was the only Baltic fund to gain access to this round, having introduced Miki Kuusi, CEO of Wolt, who joined the investment round.
Lifeline Ventures was the lead investor, with Illusian, Mantas Mikuckas (Co-founder and COO of Vinted), and Rytis Vitkauskas (Partner at Dig Ventures) and former Shopify executives also joining.
