Iron Wolf Capital joins Buntar Aerospace's $16 million funding round

06 October 2026

Buntar Aerospace, a Ukrainian defence technology company building autonomous unmanned aerial systems, has raised $16 million in new funding.

Freedom Fund and a top-tier international private equity fund led the round. EstVCA member Iron Wolf Capital, Gardar Venture Capital and Autonomy Capital also took part. The round brings Buntar's total funding to $30 million.

"Surviving electronic warfare and flying autonomously, not raw endurance, will decide the next decade of tactical intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance. Buntar's vertical take-off drone, AI navigation and Copilot software layer are already proven in Ukraine, at a cost NATO can buy in volume. That's the profile of a category leader, and we're proud to back them," says Kasparas Jurgelionis, Managing Partner at Iron Wolf Capital.

Ivan Kaunov and Bohdan Sas founded Buntar Aerospace in August 2023. The company's first product was the Buntar-1 reconnaissance drone. On today's battlefield, drones have to keep working while electronic warfare jams their signals, and operators have to fly them under heavy pressure. Buntar builds for those conditions. Its reconnaissance drones are designed to operate under severe electronic warfare, and its AI-driven Buntar Copilot software guides drone operators during missions, so they can focus on the task at hand. Both products are already in use with front-line units across Ukraine and bring in stable revenue. The team works directly with soldiers and refines its technology based on feedback from real combat.

"Our systems fly, see, and make decisions on their own, allowing the operator to focus on what matters most. We focus on missions where human skill is critical: intelligence, counter-drone operations, and high-precision strike assistance. This is what Ukraine needs today, and this is what Europe must prepare for tomorrow. Battle-tested tech inevitably reshapes civilian life, and we plan to scale that front too," says Bohdan Sas, co-founder of Buntar Aerospace.
