Starting in September, the Estonian Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (EstVCA) will be led by Kärt Klein, who brings extensive experience in building investor communities and developing international partnerships.

Kärt Klein said that as Managing Director of EstVCA, she will focus on strengthening Estonia’s ties with international private equity and venture capital networks and fostering closer cooperation between investors, entrepreneurs, policymakers and legislators.

“Estonia’s private equity and venture capital market has grown into a mature and well-established ecosystem. As head of EstVCA, I will focus on strengthening cooperation between market participants and the public sector, while making Estonia’s capital market more attractive and trusted among international entrepreneurs and investors. Other key priorities include bringing more local institutional capital into the market, raising Estonia’s international profile and strengthening its links with global networks,” Klein said.

Hendrik Reimand, Chairman of the Board of EstVCA, said the association remains focused on supporting a business environment that fosters innovation and economic growth.

“Strengthening cooperation across Europe and with partners in Asia and the United States will be one of our key priorities in the coming years, and Kärt’s experience and extensive international network will be a strong asset in this work. Another key priority for EstVCA is maintaining a stable regulatory environment so that local investors, particularly pension funds, can continue investing in the Estonian economy. We also expect our new CEO to help raise the profile and strengthen the reputation of the New Nordic region among international investors, while supporting the next generation of talent in the sector. Increasing the share of private capital in Estonian funds also remains important to our members,” Reimand said.

Kärt Klein brings extensive experience in building international investor communities and developing strategic partnerships across Europe. She has previously worked at European Women in VC, the European Business Angel Network (EBAN) and Invest Estonia, where she helped attract foreign direct investment to Estonia.

The Estonian Private Equity and Venture Capital Association brings together private equity and venture capital firms as well as service providers supporting the industry. EstVCA members currently manage more than €3 billion in assets.
